Avocademy's 2023 in Review

As the year comes to an end, we wanted to take a closer look at the opportunities and challenges of 2023 at Avocademy. This year, our focus has been on making our programs more financially accessible through scholarship initiatives and responding to an evolving tech landscape.

Eliminating financial barriers

Fueled by the growth of 2022 and In line with our mission, in 2023 Avocademy awarded more than $645,000 in scholarship funds to prospective students from communities traditionally underrepresented in tech fields. These scholarships were granted to help off set the cost of the program or eliminate it entirely based on need. Below are the scholarships awarded to date; we are accepting applications on a rolling basis through 12/31/23.

• 25 Hispanic Heritage Scholarships
• 39 Teacher’s Scholarships
• 57 Women’s Empowerment Scholarships
• 45 Laptop Scholarships

Responding to the changing landscape

2023’s evolving tech landscape and job market posed unique challenges for this year’s career changers. We’re proud to announce that despite the trials and tribulations of the past year, our graduates landed roles with more than 175 unique companies at an average time to placement of 122 days, just slightly above that of 2022. Graduate salaries in 2023 totaled $16,624,019 with most students doubling their pre-program salaries.
