Job Guarantee Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to the UX/UI Design Career Accelerator Avocademy Job Guarantee.
Eligibility Requirements
- You must be 18 years or older.
- You must reside and be seeking employment in the United States. You must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer without restriction for the duration of the program and such authorization must be valid for at least two years following Graduation Date. You cannot require employer sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.
- You must be willing to relocate for work and willing to accept both remote and non-remote positions.
- You must be a job seeker with the intent of securing employment in a Qualifying Position within your enrollment. If your intent changes at any point in your program, your eligibility will be voided.
- You must be able to pass any background checks associated with jobs that you apply for. Without limiting the foregoing, if you fail to obtain a job offer directly or partially due to your failure to pass a background check associated with the job offer, you will not be eligible for the tuition refund.
- Avocademy reserves the right to re-verify your eligibility at any time within the course and during the Guarantee Period. If you no longer fit the criteria, your eligibility will be voided. If you provide Avocademy with false or incorrect information related to any eligibility requirements, your eligibility will be voided.
Qualifying Position. A “Qualifying Position” is defined as any role in a design or design-related field that meets the following terms:
- A salaried employee or waged employee working an average of at least 30 hours a week onsite or remotely;
- A full-time (30 or more hours per week) contractor, intern, or other service provider relationship working onsite or remotely; or
- A paid or unpaid onsite or remote contractor or intern (30 or more hours per week) that has the potential to be extended.
Mandatory Assignments.
- Complete and receive certification by 11:59PM EST on Graduation Date defined in Enrollment Agreement.
- Complete all assignments in the Advanced Design Skills within 14 days of 11:59PM EST on Graduation Date defined in Enrollment Agreement.
- Submit a completed resume per the instructions in the course content within 90 days of 11:59PM EST on Graduation Date defined in Enrollment Agreement.
- Submit a completed portfolio with a total of 3 complete case studies from the list of projects curated by Avocademy that meet the requirements outlined for the selected project and incorporate all course content within 90 days of 11:59PM EST on Graduation Date defined in Enrollment Agreement.
- Complete all Job Search assignments by 11:59PM EST on Career Services End Date defined in Enrollment Agreement.
- Must create profiles on LinkedIn, Dice, ZipRecruiter and Indeed. In addition you must maintain an active profile with all your up to date experience (UX/UI Design and Non-Design related) and skills and update your resume weekly onto platforms beginning 90 days after 11:59PM EST on Graduation Date defined in Enrollment Agreement.

7. Submit the Job Search Update Form by 11:59PM EST of each Sunday.
8. Update the Job Application Tracking Platform of all recruiting activity, including job applications, active interview statuses, rejections, and offers, by providing necessary documentation or evidence, such as interview invitations, confirmation emails, or any other relevant correspondence daily.
9. Be active in building your network by reaching out to at least 5 new individuals per week with supporting documentation serving as proof of outreach in the form of a networking outreach tracker and screenshots of any written messages or detailed notes of in-person conversations. Outreach includes emailing, LinkedIn messages, meetups, and conferences.
10. Be active in using your network by conducting two informational interviews per month with supporting documentation serving as proof that the interviews took place in the form of a tracker and screenshots of the meeting confirmations or detailed notes. An informational interview may be done in person, by video chat, or by phone call.
11. Use all Career Services mentorship credits to meet with mentors for the purpose of developing design skills, portfolio and resume review, or interview preparation at least 90 days prior to Career Services End Date.
12. Always act with reasonable and good faith efforts to obtain a Qualifying Position.
Job Guarantee Voiding Events. Without limiting the foregoing, situations that void this Job Guarantee include, but are not limited to:
- You violate the Avocademy Code of Conduct.
- You turn down a job offer for a Qualifying Position.
- If you choose not to conduct a job search related to your course during the Guarantee Period.
- You do not put sufficient and consistent effort into your job search, as outlined above.
- You do not communicate with Avocademy mentors consistently throughout your search, notifying us of any offers you have received.
- You lose your work authorization or do not have sufficient work authorization that meets the requirements above during your search, even if you did expect to have authorization or did at one time have appropriate work authorization during your enrollment.
- You do not follow through with the interview process for Qualifying Positions in a timely and professional manner, including but not limited to not participating as expected by the employer in the interview process by providing responses to employer communications, showing up on time for interviews, and providing documents or follow up as expected by employers.
- You no-show or reschedule/cancel a 1:1 Mentor call with less than 4 hours notice with a Mentor 3 or more times at any point from Start Date to Career Services End Date.
Changes in the Terms of Services.
Avocademy reserves the right to modify or replace any of these Terms at any time under the following conditions: Avocademy will notify the student on the respective amendments at least two weeks before the change comes into force via e-mail or in writing. The change is considered accepted by the student if he does not state otherwise within six weeks after receipt of the change notification. Avocademy will make particular note of the right of objection, the objecting period, and legal consequences, particularly regarding the failure to object to the changes. In the case that the student objects, Avocademy is entitled to not accept future bookings of Programs by the student.
Avocademy is particularly entitled to make changes to these Terms, in case a condition is found to be invalid, to extend or replace it with applicability to existing contracts, in case of changes in legal requirements or judicial decision, if these changes affect one or more conditions of the contract, in order to adjust the conditions affected corresponding to the purpose of the changed legal context, insofar as the student does not have a worse economic position due to the new or changed conditions than according to the original condition.
